QPS ISPM-15

In wooden packaging material like pallets, dunnage, crates and wooden boxes wood-attacking insects may be found. In order to prevent them from wider spreading and all its consequences,,worldwide, regulations have been established, stated in ISPM 15.

Many countries have put quarantine regulations in place to protect their native forests from the introduction of wood pests. In order to prevent the proliferation of differing import regulations, the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat, part of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, has issued ISPM 15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures) “Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade” (source: www.smhv.nl). The SMHV (Foundation Marking Wooden Packaging) is the Dutch authority dealing with the correct application and organisation of the Dutch part of  ISPM 15.

Fumico BIO & QPS Services offer to treat your wooden packaging material in accordance with the ISPM 15 demands. Fumico BIO & QPS Services are registered by the SMHV, number NL248 and the treatment techniques and methods meet all the demands of this authority.

Proving this you will find the Declaration of the SMHV that Fumico Bio & QPS Services is allowed to perform treatments on your wooden packaging material complying with ISPM 15 guidelines.

Also in compliance with  ISPM 15 guidelines Fumico Bio & QPS Services will issue a certificate after completion of the treatment, confirming to importing countries that the wood has been treated and all life stages of wood-destroying insects (egg, larva, adult) have been eliminated.

Wooden products treated in accordance with ISPM 15 guidelines and then for example exported in export containers need not be issued with a phytosanitary certificate or a plant passport.
